A:Short answer to this question is yes, after all who can forget that historic Alaskan Gold Rush at the turn of the 20th century. These days visitors come to Alaska during summer months and participate on popular gold mining tours, one such tour is El Dorado Gold Mine Tour out of Fairbanks. Kantishna Hills inside Denali National Park up until 1950s was known for gold mining. Fannie Quigley made Kantishna her home during the Kantishna Gold Rush. Quigley’s Cabin is still standing, all renovated. If you are staying at Denali Backcountry Lodge, you can visit the cabin, and you can also pan for gold at the Moose Creek that flows through the lodge. The Moose Creek flows out of Kantishna hills.
