Q: How many passengers can fit in one helicopter tour?
A: There are a couple different companies offering Helicopter Tours in Alaska, and of course they use different helicopters, so the passenger capacity changes.
For Denali National Park Helicopter Tours, generally the passenger capacity is 6 people per helicopter.
For Helicopter tours out of Girdwood, exploring the Chugach Mountain Range, the helicopter is smaller; it has a 3 person passenger capacity. There is an advantage to a smaller helicopter however; every person has a window seat, and a great panoramic view! If you have a larger group, you can simply split your group between more than 1 helicopter.
Note: If any passengers are over 250 lbs, they may have to be allocated an extra seat, which brings the passenger capacity down.
A: There are many ways one can search for an Alaskan vacation. It is simple and easy, as easy as just typing “Alaska vacation” and hitting search in any popular search engine. However, that’s where the easy part ends, and the arduous second part of finding the right vacation begins.
There are many tour companies out there offering different types of vacation packages. We, at Alaska Denali Tours, have over 100 vacation packages in our site. If you land on our website looking for Alaska vacations, we have made that second part easy.
We have developed the Alaska Vacation Finder, a tool that will simplify the process of finding the right vacation package for you. Simply select the destinations you want to visit, the number of days you have available along with the price range you are comfortable with, and hit submit. Our Alaska Vacation Finder will find just the vacations you are looking for.
Q: Is it a possibility to rent a car one-way to Denali National Park?
A:Unfortunately, there are no rental car agencies in Denali National Park, so you can not drop a rental car off there. However, there are a couple of alternate options available: You can take our convenient Anchorage Denali Express service from Anchorage to Denali, and then take Alaska Railroad’s Denali Star Train back the next day.
Or, if you are set on renting a car: After visiting Denali, you will have to detour further north to Fairbanks, to drop your rental car off (Additional fees may apply.) You can then take a train back to Anchorage. You will have to leave Denali pretty early, or stay the night in Fairbanks to do this, as the Fairbanks train leaves for Anchorage at 8am, and arrives at 8pm.
Q: Can we take the morning bus to the Denali Backcountry Lodge?
A:Yes, however, if you are planning to stay overnight at the Denali Backcountry Lodge, you must take the afternoon bus. It is still the same fully narrated, exciting, wildlife searching adventure, just set a little later in the day. You will arrive at the Denali Backcountry Lodge in the evening, on time for a Family-Style Dinner, and a peaceful night in your private cedar cabin.
The morning bus is reserved for the Denali Backcountry Adventure. It is a full-day adventure and requires an early start, which is why the morning bus is completely reserved. It’s most complete trip to Kantishna, in Denali National park, in just one day.
Q: What’s included in your Alaska Vacation packages?
A: Often times we get questions like this from guests who are surprised by the low price of the given package. We are absolutely proud that we are able to offer so much bang for the buck. Anyway, getting back to the question, all of our Alaska vacation packages are developed taking into consideration things like hotels available in certain destinations, the various transportation options, and various activities one can do in that specific destination. We select just the right hotels, transportation options, and day tours to make a complete package. All of our vacation packages include the hotel overnight cost, all the transportation cost as mentioned in the package, and certain tours where applicable.
